    The Intelligence and Security Service Seized  Goods Worth 40,000 Euros Introduced Into the Country through the Transnistrian Region

    Goods worth 40,000 euros purchased from the market KM7️ in Odessa and introduced into the country through the Transnistrian region being stored in the localities of the Security Zone were seized during an operation of the Intelligence and Security Service, Customs, and Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organized Crime.

    The Intelligence and Security Service and Customs Service officers apprehended several members of a criminal group in a smuggling case of consumer goods.

    Three members of the group were apprehended on August 1️6️, as a result of an ambush organized in the Căușeni district. Immediately after their arrest, 1️0️ searches were carried out at several addresses in the locality.

    Consequently, lots of consumer goods worth about 40,000 euros and three vehicles, used for the illegal transportation of goods, were seized. The documentation regarding the illegal activity of the suspects was made during several months, accumulating the necessary evidence for the criminalization of the crime of smuggling.

    If the guilt of the detained persons will be proven in court, they risk imprisonment for up to 1️0️ years.
