Meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors, postponed for the second time in a row
The meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) scheduled for Wednesday 15 February has been postponed due to lack of quorum.
“(…) The quorum required to declare this meeting deliberative was not met today either. Respectively, again this meeting will be postponed. I am unable to announce a new date for when the meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors will be held, because, given the fact that there are no members present both from the law and from civil society, we are forced to consult, initiate and their agenda in order to call another meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors… We will announce when there will be a meeting and I hope already deliberative (…)”, said the Chairperson of the CSP, Angela Motuzoc.
According to the agenda of the meeting, which was scheduled for today, the CSP members were to appoint a deputy chief prosecutor of the Office of the Prosecutor for Combating Organised Crime and Special Cases and a deputy chief prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
The CSP was also due to appoint representatives from the Council to the working group set up on the platform of the Ministry of Justice to finalise the draft law on the external evaluation of judges and prosecutors.
The meeting of 9 February was also not held due to lack of quorum.
