The Parliament has approved to sign the Sixth Additional Protocol to the agreement between the Romanian and Moldovan Governments for the non-reimbursable financial assistance of 100 million euros signed on April 27, 2010.

The Parliament discussed today the Sixth Additional Protocol to the Agreement between the Romanian and Moldovan Governments. During the negotiations, the parties agreed to extend the non-reimbursable financial assistance agreement worth 100 million euros signed in 2010. The Additional Protocol comes in the context in which the term of the payable period expired in March 2019, and the project implementation deadline expires in March of this year.

Protocol 6 proposes to continue the implementation of projects related to areas such as health infrastructure, education and culture, environment, water and sewerage. The Protocol also provides for the extension of the agreement for a period of 5 years.

Additionally to the protocol, the Parliament discussed the progress of the European path and the full implementation of the obligations under the Association Agreement with the European Union, with particular emphasis on continuing the reforms needed to move closer to the EU, including the reforms in the justice field.
