A delegation of the Court of Accounts carried out a working visit to the city of Kiyv, Ukraine, between August 19-21, at the invitation of the leadership of the Court of Accounts of Ukraine. The Courts of Accounts of Moldova and Ukraine signed a new cooperation agreement.

“The event is part of the aspirations to boost bilateral relations between the two supreme audit institutions and was initiated following the recent visit of Court of Accounts representatives to the Odessa region, in the context of assessing the situation of Moldova’s heritage abroad. Thus, following the cooperation initiated by the representatives of the institutions in Odessa, we identified common directions and objectives of the activity and institutional development, including in the context of aspirations to develop external public audit in accordance with international standards, directions stipulated in the provisions of National Association with the European Union.

The recent objective of the visit is to sign a new bilateral cooperation agreement, based on developments in the field of external public audit at the international level and the strategic directions of the two institutions in the 20 years since the previous agreement was signed,” it is shown in an information note of the institution.

During the visit, official meetings were planned with the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, “to discuss good practices of cooperation between the Supreme Audit and Legislative Institution as well as other topics of common interest.”
