ZdG Won Six Prizes in the Annual Competition of the Independent Press Association

Ziarul de Gardă won six prizes in the annual internal competition of the Independent Press Association. All three positions for the best journalistic investigation in the national press, the first and third place for the best reporter in the national press, but also the first place for the development of the media institution.

In the Best Reporter category, ZdG journalists Aliona Ciurcă and Daniela Calmîș obtained first place and third place, respectively. This year’s contest for Best Reporter focused on covering the COVID-19 pandemic and pandemic management at the national and local levels.

In the Best Investigation in the national press 2020 category, all three awarding positions went to the Ziarul de Gardă journalists. On the first place – Diana Gațcan, on the second place – Daniela Calmîș, and on the third place – Anatolie Eșanu.

Ziarul de Gardă also won the Award for the development of the media institution. For the year 2020, this award went to Alina Radu, the director of Ziarul de Gardă.

The Independent Press Association has been organizing annual internal competitions for journalists and media institutions members of the organization since 1999. In 2019, within the same competition, ZdG won six awards, and in 2020 – seven.
