The magistrates of the Chișinău Court refused the request of the National Integrity Authority to seize the “unjustified property of 30,000 euros” of the Democratic Party deputy Dumitru Diacov. The Integrity Authority will challenge the court’s decision.

The National Integrity Authority inspectors verified Dumitru Diacov’s declarations of wealth and personal interests for the period 2014-2019. In February 2021, the Integrity Authority discovered a substantial difference, amounting to over 30,000 euros, between the acquired wealth and the income obtained by the Democratic deputy and his wife and submitted a seizure request to the Chișinău Court. However, the Chisinau Court rejected the integrity inspectors’ request.

“The National Integrity Authority considers this decision to be unfounded, for which we will appeal to the Chișinău Court of Appeal. The reasons for rejecting our request for this seizure are not known,” mention the National Integrity Authority representatives.
