The United States of America donated to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense a batch of mobile medical and logistic equipment of approximately 250,000 US dollars.

The donation was offered to the Moldovan Army through the US Embassy in Chișinău, in order to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Moldovan Ministry of Defense, the American donation contains mobile medical and logistical equipment, including cardio monitors, bactericidal lamps, infrared thermometer, oxygen concentrators, disinfectants, sanitary containers, shower cabins, Bio WC cabins, and automatic washing machines.

Ambassador Dereck J. Hogan mentioned that this donation symbolizes the close ties between our nations.

“This support is not only a help for the Moldovan Armed Forces but also a benefit for the country’s citizens, who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. This equipment will increase the capabilities of the National Army to better support the efforts of the civilian authorities and as a result, more lives will be saved,” said Ambassador Hogan.

The acting minister, Victor Gaiciuc, said that “the donated equipment will be used not only to prevent COVID-19, in exceptional situations but also in exercises and training of the National Army.”

Earlier, the United States donated another batch of medical equipment, worth 15,000 US dollars, intended for the protection of medical staff at the Central Military Clinical Hospital and the Diagnostic Advisory Center of the Ministry of Defense.
