    Sandu on the Meeting with US Under Secretary of State: We Need US Support in Fighting Corruption

    At the meeting between the Prime Minister Maia Sandu and Under Secretary of State David Hale Sandu reiterated that Moldova needs more than ever, US support in fighting corruption. She added that the current government has the will to fight illegal schemes.

    “Today, more than ever, we need US support in the fight against corruption, money laundering, regional smuggling and monopolies. The current government, unlike the previous government, has the political will to stop all these wrongdoings and illegal schemes. In this respect, we greatly rely on cooperation with the US Government in the field of law enforcement, the fight against corruption and the justice sector, ” Sandu said.

    In turn, David Hale reconfirmed US support for Moldova’s modernization programs.

    The US Under Secretary was in an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on July 13- 14. During this visit he met with the Moldovan Prime Minister Maia Sandu on July 13. They discussed the implementation of reforms and the US support in the fight against corruption.
