After an audit, the Court of Accounts concluded that Avia Invest the company that manages the Chișinău International Airport has inefficiently spent around €12.2 million out of which €1.7 million were used to sponsor a football club owned by Ilan Shor and 464,900 euros to buy an Audi car also used by Ilan Shor.

After an audit conducted at the end of January this year, the Court of Accounts concluded that in recent years Avia Invest the company that manages the Chișinău International Airport has inefficiently spent around €12.2 million (235.9 million lei).

Out of the €12.2 million (235.9 million lei) around €6.4 million (124 million lei) went for cleaning services, while around €1.7 million (34.56 million lei) went to sponsorships. The main beneficiary was the Milsami Orhei football club, owned by Ilan Shor.

The Court of Accounts also found that out of the whole inefficient spendings around 664,000 euros (12.81 million lei) represented unjustified increases in insurance costs.

However, among the inefficient spendings, there was also an Audi car with the registration numbers KKL 001, worth 464,900 euros (9.2 million lei).

ZdG found that the car purchased by Avia Invest from the money of Chișinău International Airport was used by Ilan Shor, who holds the position of chairman of the Board of Directors of the company that obtained the airport concession from the state.

In 2018, during the Orhei City Day, ZdG surprised Ilan Shor when he was entering into the car.
