PACE Party leader Gheorghe Cavcaliuc joined the protests on October 16, to chant anti-government slogans alongside several members of the Shor Party and the Party of Communists. Cavcaliuc appeared on screen, as did Ilan Shor, both of whom are wanted by Interpol.

In addition to the usual message announced by the other protesters, he also criticised the current Minister of the Interior, Ana Revenco, initially addressing the police: “Message to the police. You have been beaten by fate as this people have been beaten. These incompetents in PAS have appointed you a skirt-wearing interior minister who is a chronic alcoholic”.

Earlier, the PACE leader had previously announced that his party would join the protests organised by the Shor Party. PAS deputy Dumitru Alaiba reacted ironically to Gheorghe Cavcaliuc’s announcement, urging him to return to Moldova.

Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, who is in London, is also a defendant in the “fabricated criminal cases against Gheorghe Petic and Ruslan Verbițchi, as well as in the “Brilliant Green” case. On 19 November 2021, the magistrates of the Ciocana court in Chisinau issued a 30-day arrest warrant for Colonel Gheorghe Cavcaliuc.

Previously, Cavcaliuc had been announced as wanted by Interpol, but shortly afterwards his search was blocked “invoking Article 3 of the Interpol Constitution”.

On Octoebr 16, citizens from all over the country who were brought in an organized manner in the capital came out to a new protest, which was organized by the political party “Shor”.

The fifth Sunday of anti-government protests in the center of the capital was different from the past ones. Today, two police cars with masked policemen inside drove in front of the column of protesters.

Ziarul de Gardă showed in an undercover investigation how the participants of the Shor Party protests are mobilized, transported organized and paid. It also revealed the role of the so-called “patratists” in Orhei, who recruit demonstrators, organize and pay them.
