“After almost two years of pause, the train that connected the heart of Moldova with that of Romania resumes its activity. Maybe, in the beginning, this race will not bring great resources in the budget of the State Enterprise “Moldovan Railway,” but it will certainly generate a lot of joy for the citizens,” said the director of the Public Property Agency, Eugeniu Cozonac, during the event.

“We are close to the most beautiful winter holidays. For each of us, Christmas and New Year’s Eve are associated with the reunion of relatives, friends, and loved ones. In other words, the holidays mean union, happiness, and hope. There are many people who used to travel by train the 358 km that separate the capital of Moldova from that of Romania, either to visit their relatives, or to see their children studying across the Prut, or to continue or start their businesses. That’s why, for those who waited so much, today’s event comes as an alternative in passenger transport, as a dream come true, as a gift if you want,” said the director of the Public Property Agency, Eugeniu Cozonac.

Until December 31, the train will run twice a week, departing from Chișinău on Thursdays and Sundays, and from Bucharest on Mondays and Fridays.

Starting with January 2, 2022, the train will run three times a week, departing from Chișinău on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and from Bucharest on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
