A Russian Diplomat Was Caught at the Chișinău International Airport with 50,000 Dollars of Undeclared Money
On January 31, a Russian diplomat caught by Customs Service officers at Chișinău International Airport, trying to leave Moldova with 50,000 dollars of undeclared money.
Customs officials announced that the undeclared money was found in the Russian diplomat’s suitcase.
“On January 31, 2021, during the security check of hand luggage at Chișinău International Airport, the Customs Service was informed by the Border Police about the existence of serious suspicion that the personal luggage of a diplomat accredited in Chișinău contains objects whose export is prohibited by Moldova’s law. The customs officers found undeclared foreign currency whose value exceeds the maximum amount allowed by Moldovan law for cash export. The case is further investigated by the Customs Service, establishing all the circumstances,” it is mentioned in the note.
