Prosecutors raided the home of former Romanian MP Cristian Rizea
Law enforcement officers raided the home of former Romanian MP Cristian Rizea on Wednesday evening, 28 June. TV8 sources have come up with footage from the scene.
Police representatives said that the raids are being carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office, but they could not provide any other details.
Former Romanian MP Cristian Rizea, who on 27 April was declared an undesirable person and expelled from Moldova, is alleged to have “prepared and carried out actions aimed at changing the constitutional regime of Moldova by violence”.
Cristian Rizea has been under international search through Interpol channels for arrest and extradition purposes since 19.03.2019, with a view to serving a prison sentence in Romania for a term of 4 years and 8 months for the crime of influence peddling, money laundering and influencing statements, according to the final sentence issued by the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania.
