The deputy of the “Sor” party, Marina Tauber, appeared on Friday, 14 April 2023, before prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Organised Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) to be heard in the context of statements she made on 24 March about plans by the Chisinau authorities to prepare “provocations” on the Dniester. According to the PCCOCS, the MP avoided making statements at the hearing, “claiming that she would do so at a later stage”.

On the other hand, the “Shor” party claims that MP Marina Tauber, accompanied by her lawyer, testified about the statements of 24 March and “reconfirmed all the information rumoured” then.

“MP Tauber Marina avoided making statements during Friday’s hearing at the PCCOCS. She refrained from conforming her public statements to the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure, claiming that she would do so at a later stage. To date, the MP has not filed a referral reflecting her public statements at the 24 March briefing,” the PCCOCS says.

The “Shor” party, quoting Tauber, claims that the MP “reconfirmed” what she said at the 24 March briefing about the “provocations” on the Dniester and that she informed the prosecutor on the case that “as a responsible MP” she could provide “new details” about the state authorities’ “attempt” to “draw Moldova into the war”.

“During today’s hearings, I reconfirmed all the information I had voiced during the briefing on 24 March. I informed the prosecutor on the case that this issue is of high national interest and that, as a responsible MP, I could come out in the coming days with new public details about the Sandu-PAS regime’s attempt to lure Moldova into war, but also come back to him with some important details,” the “Șor” party announced in a statement.

On 24 March, the deputy and vice-president of the “Shor” party, Marina Tauber, said, referring to “data from international special services”, that the state authorities were preparing provocations on the Dniester on 17 April. At the time, in an official reaction, government spokesman Daniel Voda said that Marina Tauber’s allegations “are false and part of a constant discourse promoting fear and disunity in society”.

On 13 April, the PCCOCS announced that the statements of “Shor” party deputy Marina Tauber about the preparation of military provocations in the vicinity of the Transnistrian region had not been confirmed.

The institution noted that Marina Tauber had been summoned by lawmen on several occasions to confirm her allegations to the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code. But each time she refused, citing reasons that prosecutors consider unfounded.
