On Friday 9 December, International Anti-Corruption Day, the exhibition “Corruption and War” was launched. The exhibition will last until 29 December 2022 at the National Museum of History of Moldova and is open to all those curious to learn about the impact of corruption in Moldova and investigative journalism.

US Ambassador Kent Logsdon spoke in Romanian and told how much he appreciates independent press and investigative journalism, while Deputy Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office Aliona Nesterov mentioned the important role of investigative journalists in revealing corruption: “This year alone, six cases have been opened based on the investigations of the “Ziarul de Gardă”. I admire the courage of journalists, I will come to show children what corruption means and I urge everyone to follow my example”. Steven Fisher, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Moldova, said that “four newspapers are more powerful than four thousand bayonets in this fight against corruption”, and EU Ambassador Janis Mazeiks noted how well ZdG undercover reporters worked on the investigation into the corruption of protesters.

We also invite you to visit the Corridor of National Corruption, the War Circle, the Moldovan-Russian Caracatița and the Tunnel of Light, until 29 December, and see press articles, documents, images, photos, diagrams, collages made by ZdG and other newsrooms in Moldova and around the world, all part of the exhibition organised by Ziarul de Gardă
