“I watched with great concern and sadness the news about the fire that occurred on October 1, at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Constanța and the dramatic operation to save patients from the flames. I send sincere condolences to all those who lost loved ones in this tragedy and I wish a speedy recovery to those who suffered in the fire,” said President Sandu.

A fire broke out on Friday at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Constanța, at the intensive care unit. The red intervention plan has been activated. Seven of the ten patients who were in the ATI Covid ward died. The other patients were taken out the window in a rescue operation.
