    President of the Parliament Meets the Russian Ambassador to Moldova

    The President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, had a meeting on Tuesday with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova, Oleg Vasnețov.

    According to a press release, the Russian official sent the congratulatory letter to the head of the legislature on the occasion of his election as President of the Parliament, addressed by the President of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council, the President of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko.

    “The ambassador expressed confidence that the collaboration between the legislative institutions of the two states, as well as on the international interparliamentary platform will continue in the spirit of building constructive and pragmatic relations,” the note states.

    Igor Grosu thanked for the congratulations addressed and “assured the ambassador of the Russian Federation that he will encourage the Moldovan-Russian interparliamentary dialogue”.

    “I will be open to communication on all topics of mutual interest, especially those concerning the citizens of Moldova in the Russian Federation,” said the President of the Parliament, Igor Grosu.
