    The Presidents of Romania, Ukraine, and Lithuania Congratulated Moldova With the Pro-European Choice on Snap Elections

    The Presidents of Romania, Ukraine, and Lithuania congratulated Moldovan citizens with the results of the snap elections. The Heads of State emphasized the reformist, pro-European, and democratic choices that the Moldovan citizens made.

    The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, sent a message on Monday, July 12, he congratulated the Moldovan citizens “for the vote and for the clear option” for European integration.

    ”Congratulations to the citizens of Moldova for their civic spirit and clear choice for reforms, the rule of law, and European integration! Congratulations Maia Sandu for courage, perseverance, and perspective! Romania will be with Moldova in supporting the reforms and the European course!”

    The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also sent a message welcoming the victory obtained by the Action and Solidarity Party – “reformist and pro-European forces”, mentioning that “the result of the elections in Moldova is a victory of democracy, which marks a decisive step towards an irreversible European path.”

    The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, also sent a congratulatory message stating that it was “a very important step for a friendly Moldova on the path of reforms and the achievement of European aspirations.”

    “Sincere congratulations to my colleague, the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu for the convincing victory of the pro-European democratic political forces, the Action and Solidarity Party in the parliamentary elections. This is a very important step for a friendly Moldova on the path of reforms and the achievement of European aspirations!”, Volodimir Zelensky wrote on Twitter.

    The Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda also sent a congratulatory message:

    ”Congratulations President Maia Sandu on a convincing victory of democracy in Moldovan parliamentary elections. I hope that the new government with a strong pro-European and reform-focused orientation will attract strong professionals capable of implementing vital reforms in your country.”
