On Thursday, June 3, President Maia Sandu had a meeting with representatives of the 3 + 2 format for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. They discussed the perspective on resolving the Transnistrian conflict which should take place “in a peaceful way, through dialogue, and respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.”

“I reiterated the need to create perspective for a political solution to the conflict. This must be on the agenda of a government that will be formed after the early parliamentary elections in July,” said President Sandu.

The delegation is led by Thomas Mayr-Harting, the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office of Sweden for the Transnistrian settlement process, who is on a visit to Moldova.

“We have confirmed our openness to continue providing support, vaccines, and equipment to fight the pandemic on the left bank of the Dniester. We also talked about the human rights situation in the region and about the need to ensure free movement between the regions,” mentioned president Maia Sandu.
