The anti-corruption prosecutors detained a mayor for demanding a 20,000 euros bribe to attest the ending of works on a water supply construction. According to the prosecutors, the Măcărești commune from Ungheni District benefited from a project for the development of local infrastructure. A private company won the tender for the construction.
The prosecutors found that the mayor of the Măcărești commune intentionally delayed for months and created impediments for the private company to finalize the works.
