The support will focus on &#8220;implementing justice priorities and facilitating the provision of technical assistance, training and expertise from the US&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Justice Minister Sergiu Litvinenco met on Thursday 15 September with Richard Nephew, Global Anti-Corruption Coordinator of the US Department of State, who visited the Ministry of Justice together with US Ambassador E.S. Kent. D. Logsdon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-medium-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;I am convinced that we can continue to count on constructive cooperation with the US and its institutions in carrying out actions aimed at cleaning up the justice system, strengthening law enforcement institutions and strengthening the rule of law,&#8221; said the Minister of Justice.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">On Thursday, 15 September, at the opening of the Forum for Justice Reform and the Fight against Corruption, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that justice reform is still the &#8220;key element&#8221; of the transformations that Moldova has to go through. The results of this reform will influence citizens&#8217; confidence in the state and how quickly we will become a member state of the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The President said that the extraordinary external pre-assessment commission, made up of national and international experts, would help &#8220;clean up the system&#8221;.
