On December 1, the Central Electoral Commission requested the B\u0103l\u021bi Court to remove Marina Tauber, the candidate of the Shor Political Party, from the electoral race for the mayor position of B\u0103l\u021bi municipality. She was accused of using undeclared funds in her electoral campaign. Tauber requested the Chi\u0219in\u0103u Court of Appeal to annul the decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Thursday, December 2, the B\u0103l\u021bi District Court set a hearing for Friday to examine the request submitted by the Central Electoral Commission regarding the exclusion of Marina Tauber from the race for Balti City Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Friday, December 3, after a hearing that started at the B\u0103l\u021bi Court at 11:00 and lasted for more than 15 hours, on Saturday, December 4, at 4:00, the court announced an interruption until 8:00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday, December 4, the court admits the request of the Central Electoral Commission and obliges the Electoral Council of the Municipal Constituency B\u0103l\u021bi to issue the decision regarding the cancellation of the registration of Marina Tauber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the decision of the B\u0103l\u021bi Court, both the representatives of the Central Electoral Commission and the Electoral Council of the Municipal Constituency B\u0103l\u021bi request the B\u0103l\u021bi Court of Appeal to explain the term of execution of the decision of the B\u0103l\u021bi Court regarding the exclusion of Shor Party Marina Tauber from the electoral race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On December 4, Marina Tauber’s lawyers request that the case be moved from the B\u0103l\u021bi Court of Appeal to another court of equal rank. At 22:00, the Supreme Court of Justice began examining the relocation application, and after two hours rejected it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, December 5, at 3:00, the case reaches the B\u0103l\u021bi Court of Appeal again, and after more than 10 hours of hearing, around 6:00, the appellate court decides on maintaining the decision of the first instance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Sunday, December 5, at 6:20, the Central Electoral Commission decided to suspend the second round in which Marina Tauber, the candidate of the Shor Party, and Nicolai Grigori\u0219in, an independent candidate, were to duel for B\u0103l\u021bi City Hall. On the same day, the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the decision of the B\u0103l\u021bi Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On December 6, members of the Central Electoral Commission announced that the second round of the new local elections for mayor of Balti will take place on Sunday, December 19, and two candidates will take part in the race – Nicolai Grigori\u0219in, an independent candidate, and the next candidate on the list after the exclusion of Marina Tauber, Boris Marcoci from the Action and Solidarity Party. After a few minutes, Boris Marcoci, who ranked third in the first round of elections in B\u0103l\u021bi, publicly stated that he is giving up the electoral race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
