The announcement was made by Prime Minister Maia Sandu, following talks with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) during a visit to Chisinau.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the parties agreed to extend the program of financial assistance to Moldova until March 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;<\/em>\u00a0The 4th and 5th evaluations of the IMF program took place, following the agreement, we agreed that Moldova could have access to $ 46.5 million in 2019. We also agreed to extend the program with IMF by March 2020, in order to benefit from all EU macro-financial assistance only available in such a case,<em>&#8221; the prime minister said.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Mission Representative Ruben Atoyan has confirmed Prime Minister&#8217;s statements on establishing a set of measures to balance Moldova&#8217;s budget so as to reduce the tax burden for low-income citizens.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Maia Sandu also said that the current Government will take more steps on future grants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;<\/em>The\u00a0program was suspended due to the inappropriate decisions of the previous Government, especially those related to the fiscal amnesty, but also other decisions that unbalanced R. Moldva&#8217;s budget.\u00a0We have agreed to concrete decisions and measures that would rebalance the budget and allow for all important salary-related spending, especially for socially vulnerable groups, to be paid, &#8221;\u00a0<em>says Maia Sandu<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In this respect, Parliament will meet in a special session in August to make major changes to the state budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maia Sandu also added that the successful negotiations with the IMF opened the door to EU grants amounting to 1.368 billion lei &#8211; money that could be added to the state budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Photo: privesc.eu<\/pre>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moldova will receive 46.5 million US dollars from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2019.
