The special financing, worth about 235 million dollars, approved by the International Monetary Fund on August 2 arrived in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, announced President Maia Sandu after a meeting with the new permanent representative of the International Monetary Fund in Moldova, Rodgers Chawani.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a message posted on Facebook, the head of state mentioned that the financial resources worth about 235 million dollars allocated to our country are already available to the authorities in Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I welcomed that the money allocated by the decision of the IMF Board of Directors on August 2, regarding the special allocation of financial resources for our country, is already at the disposal of the national authorities. It is a global instrument to support the government in combating the effects of pandemics and subsequent economic recovery, our country benefits from about 235 million USD,” wrote President Maia Sandu.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In this context, President Sandu also mentioned that at the meeting with the IMF representative, they discussed Moldova’s medium-term priorities, but also a new IMF program for Moldova, which could be finalized in the fall, the team of the IMF is expected in Chi\u0219in\u0103u at the end of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We discussed the country’s medium-term priorities and the need for external financing to ensure macroeconomic stability and support economic development. We talked about a new IMF program for Moldova, which could be final in the fall, the IMF’s team being expected in Chi\u0219in\u0103u at the end of September. We agreed that the program must support coherent economic, financial, and social policies, in the interest of the citizens of our country,” Maia Sandu also said.
