ZdG found that the Prime Minister\u2019s family does not live in the apartment written in the wealth declarations, but in an expensive house, with two levels, located in the Center of the Capital. The property belongs to the parents of the new prime minister, Valeriu and Nina Catrinescu, and is protected by officers of the State Protection and Guard Service. After ZdG\u2019s investigation, the National Integrity Authority stated that the integrity inspectors will analyze the content and information published by Ziarul de Gard\u0103 and in \u201din case there are sufficient reasonable suspicions, the inspectors will take the necessary decisions.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked by Ziarul de Gard\u0103, the National Integrity Authority officials stated that the integrity inspectors will apply the same mechanisms as in the case of previous investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The National Integrity Authority will apply the same mechanisms as in previous investigations, the content and information described will be analyzed, and if there are sufficient reasonable suspicions, the inspectors will make the necessary decisions,” the institution\u2019s spokesperson Maria Dastic stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to the information from the wealth declarations of the prime minister’s family, Natalia Gavrili\u021ba and her husband, Vladimir Gavrili\u021ba, own a 52-square-meter apartment bought in 1997 for about 13,000 euros. The Gavrili\u021ba couple also declares a Lexus car manufactured in 2009, purchased in 2014 for 17,000 euros, and a Subaru car, also from 2009, purchased in 2018 for 3,500 euros. The Gavrili\u021ba family keeps in three bank accounts approximately 18,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Natalia Gavrili\u021ba was at the head of the Ministry of Finance, her husband, Vladimir Gavrili\u021ba, a former official of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was employed in the Control Corps of Prime Minister Maia Sandu. After the resignation of the Sandu Government, he became an adviser in the Cabinet of the President of the Action and Solidarity Party faction, where he worked until February 2021. Last year, according to the declaration of wealth submitted by the Prime Minister’s husband, the Gavrili\u021ba family had an income of 12,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
