Josep Borrell, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission invited Prime Minister Natalia Gavrili\u021ba to pay a visit to Brussels at the end of September. The two officials discussed on Thursday, August 10, on the phone, the priorities of the new Government in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, the association agenda, the EU assistance for Moldova. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia Gavrili\u021ba thanked Josep Borrell for the support and assistance provided by the EU institutions and the EU member states to Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“European integration is one of the new government’s strategic priorities. We will make every effort to boost our cooperation with the EU, but also to advance the implementation of the Association Agreement. We plan to focus on a series of essential reforms for citizens, but also for our relations with the EU – justice reform and the fight against corruption,” mentioned Natalia Gavrili\u021ba.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister emphasized that the immediate steps of the new government include the adoption of laws and decisions necessary to access the second tranche of macro-financial assistance amounting to 50 million Euros, including changes to improve the way of verification of assets and interests and the adoption of the new Customs Code. The two officials also discussed the completion of the new association agenda, which will set priorities and objectives for the next seven years and to be adopted at the next Moldova-EU Association Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
