The chairman of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Moldova, Siegfried Mure\u0219an, considers that “it is a good thing that the future Government in Chi\u0219in\u0103u has a new structure”.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dThe future Government of Moldova is focused on investments and modernization. It is very good that the structure of the future Government in Chi\u0219in\u0103u includes a separate Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development. People expect the Government to create new jobs and reduce the gaps between regions, and this requires the development of infrastructure to attract investors to create new jobs.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Secretary-General of the Administration of the President of Moldova, Andrei Sp\u00eenu, has been nominated for the position of Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andrei Sp\u00eenu is Secretary-General of the Action and Solidarity Party. In 2019, he held the position of Secretary-General of the Government of Moldova, and in the period 2015\u20132016, he was Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. He is an entrepreneur in the field of information technologies with a portfolio of international companies and co-founder of the organizations for the development of entrepreneurship Dreamups Innovation Campus and JCI Chi\u0219in\u0103u. Andrei Sp\u00eenu has a degree in business and business administration, and from 2018 he is enrolled in a master\u2019s program in governance at Harvard University Extension School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Siegfried Mure\u0219an, “it is very good that there is a separate Ministry of Environment.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dIn order to increase the quality of people’s lives, reducing pollution and protecting the environment must be a priority for any Government.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Iuliana Cantaragiu, vice-president of the Action and Solidarity Party, was proposed as Minister of Environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iuliana Cantaragiu is a former secretary of state within the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment in the Maia Sandu government. Iuliana Cantaragiu is an expert in the field of environmental protection and the circular economy, with experience of over 20 years in the associative sector. She held the position of Deputy Director at the Public Association National Environmental Center, and in 2020 she worked as an environmental specialist at the Public Services Agency, within the project funded by the World Bank Land Registration, Assessment, and Local Taxation. She has worked with environmental protection projects, implemented with the support of the World Bank, the European Commission, the German Development Agency, and UNDP, she was part of the National Council of NGOs, the Moldova-EU Civil Society Platform. Iuliana Cantaragiu graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, Faculty of International Economic Relations, and holds a master\u2019s degree in Risk Management and Circular Economics from the University of Applied Sciences in Tampere, Finland.

Another good decision, according to the MEP, is the appointment of a deputy prime minister for digitization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dInvestments in digitalization will bring new better-paid jobs in Moldova, more competitive enterprises internationally, as well as a better public administration, with better public services for citizens.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Iurie \u021aurcanu, the Digitization coordinator at the Electronic Government Agency, was nominated for the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iurie \u021aurcanu is an expert in digitization, with 15 years of experience in the field. He is currently the Digitization Coordinator at the Electronic Government Agency where he has been working since 2011, and between 2019 and 2020, he held the position of director. Iurie \u021aurcanu is one of the developers of the main government digital platforms such as MCloud, Msign, MPass, Mobile e-ID, MConnect. From 2000 to 2011, he was the head of the Information Systems Analysis and Design Department at Endava Group. Since 2005 he has been a university lecturer at the Technical University of Moldova, where he teaches courses in Programming Engineering and Electronic Governance Techniques and Technologies. He provided consulting in the field of digitalization and e-government of structures in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Macedonia, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Mozambique. Iurie \u021aurcan holds a bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degree in Computer Science from the Technical University of Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, August 3, the list of members in the Government of the candidate appointed to the position of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrili\u0163a was made public. Moldova would have 13 ministries, instead of 9, as it is now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201dMoldova has a plan for investments in road infrastructure, digital, energy, economic competitiveness, and support for small and medium enterprises, but also in the reforms that the citizens of Moldova expect in public administration, budget, justice, and combating corruption. Therefore, it is a good thing that the future Government has a new structure, focused on these investment and reform priorities,\u201d considers Siegfried Mure\u0219an.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Information about the Ministers of the Future Government<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On June 2, the European Commission approved an economic recovery plan for Moldova, which establishes, between 2021 and 2024, up to 600 million euros of macro-financial assistance, subsidies, and investments.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
