The controversial businessman Veaceslav Platon flew from Chi\u0219in\u0103u to London on Sunday evening, July 19, and from there he flew to Prague. At least that’s what Platon’s lawyer, Ion Cre\u021bu, says in a comment for Ziarul de Gard\u0103.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked by ZdG, Ion Cretu, Platon’s lawyer, informed us that the businessman had a ticket to Prague, the Czech capital, with transit in London, and that at the moment he does not have more details about Platon’s whereabouts and purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, the General Prosecutor’s Office issued a statement in connection with Platon’s departure from Moldova stating that “currently there is no pending work requiring the application of a preventive measure against the citizen Platon and that the normal conduct of pending criminal proceedings at the Chi\u0219in\u0103u Court is in the interest of citizen Platon. Therefore, the Prosecutor’s Office does not see any reason for him to evade justice.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversial businessman, Veaceslav Platon, was sentenced in 2017 to 18 years in prison for allegedly obtaining, through illegal schemes, about 50 million euros from the Banca de Economii Bank, then released, re-tried, and acquitted at 14, this June, by the magistrates of the Chi\u0219in\u0103u Court in the case of bank fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
