The Shor and the Socialist Parties proposed Vladimir Golovatiuc, the Moldovan ambassador to Russia for the prime minister position. They made the decision after their previous candidate, Mariana Durle\u0219teanu, withdrew her candidacy.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vladimir Golovatiuc told TASS<\/a> on Thursday, March 18, that he has accepted and is ready for the prime minister position. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leader of the parliamentary faction of the Party of Socialists, Corneliu Furculita read at the beginning of the Parliament meeting on March 18, a document on the creation of a new parliamentary majority to nominate a candidate for prime minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We announce a formation of a parliamentary majority and invite the President for consultations,” said Furculi\u021b\u0103.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In response to the Socialist\u2019s proposal for consultation, the presidency announced that these could take place only after the decree for appointing Igor Grosu for prime minister will lose its power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, March 16, President Maia Sandu signed the decree appointing Igor Grosu, the interim president of the Action and Solidarity Party as a candidate for prime minister. On the next day, the Socialist faction announced that they will submit a notification to the Constitutional Court to verify the constitutionality of Sandu\u2019s decree, stating that the appointment of Igor Grosu for the prime minister position is a deviation from the legal norms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
