After assembling the National Political Council (CNP) of PDM, the party leadership announced the decision it has made on the political situation in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Vladimir Cebotari, PDM Vice-President, announced that CNP has taken note of the refusal of PSRM and the ACUM Bloc to accept the invitation to dialogue for the lawful resolution of the political crisis. According to him, the Democrats were ready to provide legal solutions for the respective parties “to legally assume governmental power”<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Given the lack of openness to dialogue of the parliamentary parties, and at the same time resolving the country’s crisis, PDM decided to withdraw from governance through Government\u2019s resignation. This is the only legal solution  for the legal situation we are in. Thus, the Prime Minister and all Ministers will resign from today. Our decision has a political effect, will partially solve the stalemate we are in, and it will be a clear signal that PDM does not hold power, ” <\/em>Cebotari said, stating that ” the task of assuming power legally and ensure the rule of law remains the responsibility of the PSRM-ACUM alliance”.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Vladimir Cebotari said that regardless of the subsequent solutions, as long as the decisions of the Constitutional Court are in force, “The government that will be installed will operate illegally” and “the officials will not be legally able to execute the decisions of such a government and will be in a legally precarious situation. “<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he described the parliamentary majority as “fragile and temporary”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, in the end, there will be early elections, which are the only legal form to resolve the political crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PDM Vice President says the Democrats remain open to dialogue to find a legal solution: “we understand well the decisive role PDM will have in the next period in politics<\/em>.“<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cebotari states that PDM remains in politics, “enters a new stage,”<\/em>  will continue to function, will fight to fulfill the promises made in the electoral campaign and fight against those who will “federalize Moldova” and try “to sell it in pieces.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He thanked supporters for being willing to protest, but he told them that “restraint” and “calm” are now important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On June 8, PSRM deputies and the ACUM Bloc formed a parliamentary majority, chose Zinaida Greceanii as President of Parliament and appointed Maia Sandu as Prime minister. The decisions were declared unconstitutional, and the legislative work – illegal by the Constitutional Court, which stated that a new government was due to be formed by June 7, and subsequently, the Parliament would be dissolved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PDM, a ruling party, has ruled illegal the PSRM-ACUM decisions and accused the parties of “coup d’etat” attempts. While Igor Dodon, the Socialists and those in the ACUM Bloc demanded a peaceful transition of power, PDM brought in protesters and installed tents in front of the Government and other state institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the head of the EU and several European states have recognized the Sandu Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
