{"id":5368,"date":"2020-10-05T19:44:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-05T16:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/zdg.md\/en\/?p=5368"},"modified":"2020-10-09T23:23:31","modified_gmt":"2020-10-09T20:23:31","slug":"moldovas-national-bank-responds-to-the-sor-political-partys-accusations-regarding-opening-bank-accounts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zdg.md\/en\/moldovas-national-bank-responds-to-the-sor-political-partys-accusations-regarding-opening-bank-accounts\/","title":{"rendered":"Moldova&#8217;s National Bank Responds to the \u0218OR Political Party&#8217;s Accusations Regarding Opening Bank Accounts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-advanced-gutenberg-blocks-intro\"><p class=\"wp-block-advanced-gutenberg-blocks-intro__content\">The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) issued a note clarifying the accusations made by the members of the \u0218OR Political Party against the institution, regarding the commercial bank\u2019s refusal to open bank accounts for the political faction.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-default is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThe National Bank of Moldova ensures the prudential supervision of banks on the Moldovan territory to protect the interests of depositors and ensure the stability and viability of the entire banking system. The decision is based on the requirements of Law no. 202 of 06.10.2017 on the activity of banks and normative acts of the NBM issued for the application of this law, to prevent and limit the banking risks. Decisions on the initiation, continuation, or termination of the business relationship with the client are taken by banks independently, depending on the client\u2019s risk and his transactions.<\/p><p>[&#8230;] As an autonomous public authority, the National Bank exercises its activity independently and is guided by the provisions of the legislation, in the last years of reforms, with the European and international standards,\u201d mentions the NBM.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the \u0218or Political Party claim that Moldovan banks refuse to open the initiative group\u2019s account that collected signatures in favor of Violeta Ivanov, the political party&#8217;s candidate for president. &#8220;\u0218OR&#8221; Party deputy, Denis Ulanov, declared that \u201ceverything is a conspiracy against the party&#8221; and &#8220;accused the Central Electoral Commission and the NBM of fulfilling a political order.
