The Guardian wrote last days that the United Kingdom intended to send asylum seekers<\/a> to Moldova, Papua New Guinea, and Morocco. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI) in Chisinau said that such an agreement did not exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The British source notes that this idea would have been abandoned due to the Transnistrian conflict and corruption: \u201cSeeming to dismiss the idea of sending asylum seekers to Moldova, Foreign Office officials point out there is protracted conflict in the eastern European country over Transnistria as well as \u201cendemic\u201d corruption. If an asylum center depended on reliable, transparent, credible cooperation from the host country justice system we would not be able to rely on this.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moldova said that the topic of relocation projects of potential asylum seekers in the country “is not on the agenda of the dialogue of the Republic of Moldova with other states, including the United Kingdom.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “Moldova has no agreements with foreign partners in this field.
