The teachers have received prison sentences in Turkey. The Moldovan authorities left seven families destroyed. Consequently, the European Court of Human Rights sentenced Moldova to pay a \u20ac175,000 compensation.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Information and Security Service of Moldova (ISSM) claimed that the teachers had links to an Islamist group. ISSM also wrote that the competent bodies expelled the persons from Moldova, without indicating who and when made the decision. The Information and Security Service stated that they collaborated in this case with special services from other states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 11, 2019, the European Court of Human Rights issued a ruling declaring that Moldova violated foreign nationals\u2019 rights, expelled from Moldova in September 2018. The ECtHR found a violation of Articles 5.1 and 8 of the Convention on Human Rights, convicting Moldova to pay a \u20ac175,000 compensation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To this day, no one has received punishment for this operation. According to the general prosecutor, the only culprit was Vasile Botnari,&nbsp; the former head of the Information and Security Service of Moldova. He allegedly admitted his guilt, collaborates with the investigation, and his case was sent to court, although no hearing has taken place yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is 2020, and the state authorities still have not mentioned the case. Orizont High School, the one that suffered the most from the operation, ignored the sad remembrance. Only the opposition\u2019s representatives commented on the event. Maia Sandu, who is running for president, wrote a message on her Facebook page accusing Igor Dodon of what happened in 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-facebook wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-facebook\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.facebook.com\/maia.sandu\/photos\/a.219948991547061\/1376227875919161\/?type=3\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven Turkish citizens, teachers at Orizont High School in Chisinau and Ceadir-Lunga district (southern Moldova), were expelled on September 6, 2018, from Moldova.
