Representatives of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection announced that Moldova received 356 oxygen concentrators, indispensable in the oxygen therapy of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, which require immediate oxygen support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Health also stated that the European Union and the World Health Organization delivered the medical equipment as part of the financial and technical support within the EU initiative Solidarity for Health. The initiative focuses on combating the COVID-19 pandemic in the Eastern Partnership countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ministry of Health, Labor, and Social Protection distributed the oxygen concentrators according to the availability of equipment and each hospital\u2019s urgent needs. Distribution began immediately upon the truck’s arrival in Chi\u0219in\u0103u. The technical support values 253,000 euros.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oxygen therapy is a part of COVID-19 treatment of moderate and severe cases to restore respiratory problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The equipment delivered with the support of the European Union and WHO partners through the “Solidarity for Health” initiative is a real example of assistance provided to Moldovan patients trying to overcome the disease or are in the recovery process. We hope that the additional support, through which the EU continues its approach to the Europe Team for assistance provided in COVID-19,” said Peter Michalko, EU Ambassador to Moldova.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Igor Pokanevych, the World Health Organization (WHO) representative in Moldova, added: \u201cThe delivery of oxygen concentrators, thanks to the EU\u2019s contribution, will make a significant contribution to the sick people\u2019s treatment.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“Unfortunately, the patients\u2019 number with severe forms of COVID-19 infection increases continuously. Therefore, we will ensure the hospital institutions around Moldova apply the appropriate treatment to all patients with the distributed oxygen concentrators.
