During 2019, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) issued 54 cases concerning Moldova. The country was found guilty of violating the European Convention on Human Rights in 39 cases out of the 54. The data are in the report of the Government Agent on the enforcement of judgments and decisions of the ECtHR for 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During 2019, the ECtHR issued 54 cases concerning Moldova. In 39 cases Moldova was found guilty of violating one of the articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report issued by the Government Agent on the enforcement of the cases and decisions of the ECtHR in 2019, in 14 cases concerning violations of the Convention by the self-proclaimed authorities in the breakaway Transnistria region, the Court did not find any violation of the Convention by Moldova.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In these cases, the Court recognized the violation of the Convention by Russia, which continues to exercise effective control over the territory on the left bank of the Nistru river. However, in two cases against Moldova and Russia, Moldova was found responsible for violating the provisions of Articles 5, 3, and 13 of the Convention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
