The Government led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu has six months since it took office. President Igor Dodon congratulated the government, claiming that they managed the pandemic crisis professionally and with maximum responsibility. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ziarul de Garda spoke to the political analyst, Ion T\u0103b\u00e2r\u021b\u0103, who mentioned that during these six months the Chicu Government carried out actions aiming to boost Dodon\u2019s political image before the presidential elections in fall. T\u0103b\u00e2r\u021b\u0103 also mentioned that the Chicu Government put aside the idea of deoligarchization and began a \u201chunt\u201d for institutions previously owned by Vladimir Plahotniuc, the country\u2019s tycoon, subordinating them to Dodon. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six months passed since the Government led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu took the office. And President Igor Dodon congratulated the Chicu Government in a Facebook post<\/a>. He stated that the Chicu Government showed professionalism, maximum responsibility, perseverance, and resilience while facing the coronavirus crisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I do not think that any other Government would have managed to cope so competently and effectively with the pandemic and the economic challenges that have befallen Moldova this year. Many members of the Government worked practically without a break, away from family, subjected to an unimaginable mental effort. But they resisted morally and saved the country, kept it afloat, both epidemiologically and economically. That is why I am grateful to those from the Government and I am proud that I worked with them side by side during this period,\u201d Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Also in a post on Facebook, Chicu thanked the people for their support and gave assurances that the Government will resist and will continue to manage the situation in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Dear Friends! Today is exactly six months since the current government took office.\u00a0<\/strong>
Thank you to all the people in the country who support our work, during this difficult time for our country and the whole world! The people\u2019s support and the responsibility we have towards Moldova helps us enormously in facing the problems, but also in not giving in to the pressures exerted by politicians of all kinds.\u00a0<\/strong>
I want to assure you that the Government of which I have the honor to be a part, will continue to manage the situation in the country with maximum responsibility and respect for our people. I wish you all health!\u201d Chicu wrote in a <\/strong>Facebook post<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

However the political analyst, Ion Tab\u00eer\u021b\u0103 thinks that this Government is very docile and obedient to Dodon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Tab\u00eer\u021b\u0103, during these six months in office, the Chciu Government carried out actions aiming to boost Dodon\u2019s political image before the presidential elections in fall. At the same time, Tab\u0103r\u021b\u0103 considers that this Government has inefficiently managed the pandemic crisis without a clear anti-crisis plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“From the beginning, we must specify that this Government was in fact led by Dodon. It is a Government entirely subordinate to the Presidency. The Chicu Government had many populist actions aiming to boost Dodon\u2019s political image before the presidential elections in fall.\u00a0<\/strong>

This Government has inefficiently managed the pandemic crisis. It didn\u2019t have a clear anti-crisis plan. So far, citizens have no idea how to behave during this period and what it means to relax restrictions. At the end of the state of emergency, we have a very large number of infections, which results in the inefficiency of the Government in combating the pandemic. At the same time, the Government does not have a clear plan after the expiration of the state of emergency.\u00a0<\/strong>

During this period, the Government left behind the idea of deoligarchization. Instead, it managed to get many institutions that were subordinated to Vladimir Plahotniuc, the country\u2019s bigger oligarch. Now, these institutions belong to Dodon.\u00a0<\/strong>

This Government has led to Moldova\u2019s international isolation, contributing to the resumption of gray schemes in the economy,\u201d Tab\u00eer\u021b\u0103 said.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to Tab\u00e2r\u021b\u0103, the message that Igor Dodon brought to the Chicu Government on the occasion of its six months in office is, in fact, “a congratulation brought to himself”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This Government has shown that it is an annex of the Presidency and is a very docile and obedient to President Dodon,” said the political analyst.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Chicu Government was sworn in November 2019, a few hours after Dodon nominated his adviser as prime minister, whom he tasked with forming a so-called technocratic government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government led by Maia Sandu was dismissed on November 12, 2019. The Socialist and the Democratic Parties passed the no-confidence vote against the Sandu Government. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
