Moldova\u2019s President Igor Dodon, had a meeting with the U.S. ambassador to Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan. Dodon mentioned in a Facebook post that the discussion focused on the strategic dialogue between Moldova and the U.S. and the fight against the COVID-19 virus. The U.S. Embassy to Moldova noted in a Facebook post that the discussion between the two officials focused primarily on issues related to domestic policy, compliance with the law on the separation of powers in the state, and democracy, which the president did not mention in his post.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 15 President Igor Dodon met with the U.S. Ambassador to Moldova, Dereck J. Hogan. In a Facebook post<\/a>, Dodon mentioned that he discussed with the ambassador a wide range of issues related to the development of strategic dialogue between Moldova and the U.S., and about the fight against COVID-19 virus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Facebook post<\/a>, the U.S. Embassy to Moldova also informed about the meeting. However, the post mentioned more topics aside from the development of strategic dialogue between Moldova and the U.S., and the fight against COVID-19 virus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the embassy\u2019s Facebook post<\/a>, the two officials also discussed the political developments, economic outlook, justice reform, the importance of strengthening and defending democratic institutions and respecting the separation of powers enshrined in Moldova\u2019s Constitution.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, the Presidency also issued a press release<\/a> regarding the meeting. However, the press release offers the same information as Dodon\u2019s Facebook post<\/a>, leaving out the details about the justice system and the importance of strengthening and defending democratic institutions and respecting the separation of powers enshrined in Moldova\u2019s Constitution. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
