\"453-perju\"<\/a>Buiucani Court acquitted, on December 24, 2013, Policeman Ion Perju, accused of murder of Valeriu Boboc, the young man killed in the Great National Assembly Square on the night of April 7 to 8, 2009. \u201cIt is a decision I expected because I am not guilty. We presented evidence. I cannot tell you what I will do next. I will talk to my lawyer\u201d, said Perju.<\/p>\n

Boboc Valeriu\u2019s father expressed his dissatisfaction with the Court\u2019s decision. \u201cWhat comments can exist in this case? I did not expect such a decision. This is how justice works here, and we tend towards the EU. I am completely disappointed. We will attack the decision in any way possible. It is a shocking decision\u201d, he commented.<\/p>\n

Prosecutor Vladimir Mo\u015fneaga said that the decision of the Buiucani Court \u201cis an illegal and unjustified decision. We will appeal the decision to the Chisinau Court of Appeals. We submitted enough evidence, including the expert opinion from the U.S. where it was shown that the person hitting Valeriu Boboc is namely Ion Perju and not another person. In Court, we requested the recusal of judges. We have presented several wiretaps conducted between Perju and others, which have shown that while being under house arrest, he breached preventive measures and said that at Court everything is solved\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"453-tata-lui-valeriu-boboc\"<\/a>On Tuesday night, the Prosecutor General\u2019s Office issued a press release announcing that it considers the sentence pronounced by the Buiucani Court that Ion Perju was acquitted illegal and totally unjustified. Moreover, the Court based its verdict of acquittal solely on the arguments of the defendant. Prosecutors have presented convincing evidence that indicated the guilt of Ion Perju in overcoming duties and intentional bodily injury or health that caused the death of Valeriu Boboc.<\/p>\n

We will recall that on April 6, 2010, the Prosecutor General detained the collaborator of police headquarters, Ion Perju, and on April 7, 2010, filed charges in terms of committing the murder of Valeriu Boboc on April 8, 2009. Earlier, the prosecution requested the challenge of the judge examining the criminal case of Ion Perju and gave the examination of the file to a new panel of judges. The reason being is the impartial behavior of the judge from Buiucani Court, Galina Moscalciuc, where prosecutors featured information that she has been influenced by the defense. The Court, however rejected the request of the judge in regards to challenging the judge as being unfounded..<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Prosecutor General, who requested that the accused be sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a period of 5 years, will challenge the acquittal of Ion Perju\u201d, the press release also indicates.<\/p>\n

Policeman Ion Perju arrived on the dock, a year after the murder of Valeriu Boboc, after the exposure of video images. It was clear that the 23-year-old died during the events in April 2009 as he was beaten to death by law enforcement. The images shown weere captured by surveillance cameras installed by the authorities in the Grand National Assembly, which showed that, at around 01:00, 100-200 police man raided and attacked several groups of young people gathered in the center of Chisinau.<\/p>\n

Ion Perju, blamed for the death of Valeriu Boboc, said he was innocent during the investigation. He claimed that he was elected by his peers from the Chisinau Criminal General Police (CGP). Although expertise demonstrated that he was for certain among those who had kicked Boboc, Perju denied that he was the man in blue kicking a person in front of the Government building, as the footage of that night that made public last year show, and doubts that he hit Boboc.<\/p>\n

Although, after the events from April 2009, more dead and wounded were registered, but until this hour no official has been punished by the Courts.<\/p>\n
