{"id":1616,"date":"2019-09-22T18:00:15","date_gmt":"2019-09-22T16:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/zdg.md\/eng\/?p=1616"},"modified":"2019-09-22T18:00:17","modified_gmt":"2019-09-22T16:00:17","slug":"france-will-support-the-rehabilitation-of-the-chisinau-ungheni-railway-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zdg.md\/en\/france-will-support-the-rehabilitation-of-the-chisinau-ungheni-railway-line\/","title":{"rendered":"France Will Support the Rehabilitation of the Chi\u0219in\u0103u-Ungheni Railway Line"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>During the visit to Chi\u0219in\u0103u of the Secretary of State for European Affairs, Am\u00e9lie de Montchalin, the governments of Moldova and France signed a Letter of Intent regarding financing of the project for the rehabilitation and modernization of the Chi\u0219in\u0103u &#8211; Ungheni railway line.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Am\u00e9lie de Montchalin announced the financial support at<strong> <\/strong>a press conference held with Moldova\u2019s Foreign Minister, Nicu Popescu, on September 13.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Moldovan Government and the French Government signed the Letter of Intent regarding the rehabilitation and modernization of the railway line Chi\u0219in\u0103u &#8211; Ungheni project financing, that same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The document was signed by the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Vadim Br\u00eenzan and the State Secretary for European Affairs, Am\u00e9lie de Montchalin.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;We appreciate the opening from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Treasury Department of the French Republic for the intention to grant the Republic of Moldova a financial loan under preferential conditions, for the development of the country&#8217;s railway infrastructure.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The funds granted by the French Government will be used to purchase automated equipment and rehabilitate railway sections on the Chi\u0219in\u0103u-Ungheni section. This project is a strategic one for our country and will substantially improve the connection of the Moldovan railway network to the Romanian and European ones, \u201c <\/em>the Minister of Economy, Vadim Br\u00eenzan mentioned during the signing of the Letter between the two countries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moldova\u2019s Inter-ministerial Committee for the examination of projects offered favorable support for the rehabilitation of the Chi\u0219in\u0103u- Ungheni railway line project.
