During her working visit to Germany on Saturday, 7 January, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrili\u021ba delivered a speech to the Parliamentary Group of the Christian Social Union (CSU) in the German Bundestag and had bilateral meetings with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the leader of the European People’s Party (EPP) group in the European Parliament, President of the European People’s Party, MEP Manfred Weber.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her speech to the German parliamentarians, the head of the executive in Chisinau spoke about the challenges faced by Moldova since the beginning of the war against Ukraine, but also about the government’s actions aimed at a European, democratic and prosperous future, a press release from the Moldovan government said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have received a strong mandate from the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to start a process of profound transformation of our country into a modern European state with an independent judiciary, an efficient public administration, a resilient and sustainable economic development model and an attractive investment climate. Despite the war, we remain fully committed to this bold agenda of structural reforms, which is at the heart of our strategic goal to become a full member of the European Union”,<\/em> Natalia Gavrili\u021ba said at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia Gavrili\u021ba also thanked all the parliamentarians present who supported the additional support committed by Germany to mitigate the effects of the energy and refugee crises, and especially to support Moldova’s European path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also today, 7 January, during a meeting of Prime Minister Natalia Gavrili\u021ba with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, the steps to be taken by our country to implement the 9 actions recommended by the European Commission and the priorities of the Moldovan-EU dialogue for the coming period were discussed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the press release issued by the Moldovan Government, the European Parliament will continue to support Moldova in the process of pre-accession to the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also during her official visit to Germany, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrili\u021ba had a bilateral meeting with the leader of the EPP group in the European Parliament, President of the European People’s Party, MEP Manfred Weber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head of the Chisinau executive thanked the German official for the support given to Moldova in the process of obtaining the status of candidate country for accession to the EU and stressed the progress made by the government in its commitment to meet the nine conditions for opening accession negotiations, according to a government statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia Gavrili\u021ba expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the EU through the EU Support Platform for Moldova and reiterated our country’s interest in procuring natural gas on the EU Joint Procurement Platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Access to this Platform will allow us to strengthen the process of ensuring the energy security of the Republic of Moldova, affected by the blackmail of the Russian Federation. Despite the fact that we have been hit hard by rising prices and a reduction in the volume of natural gas supplied by Gazprom, we continue to look firmly towards a European future”<\/em>, Natalia Gavrili\u021ba stressed during the discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MEP Manfred Weber reiterated the European Parliament’s support for the implementation of the reform agenda and praised the government’s efforts in managing the chain of crises that have hit our country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
