According to the SPIA, as a result of the searches, money, mobile phones, ledgers, ledger books, draft documents and other items relevant to the criminal case were found and seized.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The criminal prosecution was conducted in the framework of a criminal case, initiated on the fact of passive bribery admitted by civil servants with special status within the Southern Patrol Directorate of the INSP of the IGP of the MAI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><em>&#8220;In fact, according to the complainants, the INSP employees of the IGP, contrary to the obligations and prohibitions imposed by their positions, with the aim of avoiding the contravention and\/or criminal liability of the drivers, have demanded, accepted and received personally and through intermediaries money funds ranging from 600 lei to 950 euros, in order not to hold the declarants liable,&#8221;<\/em> a press release of the SPIA states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">According to the legislation, passive bribery committed by two or more persons is punishable by imprisonment from 5 to 10 years with a fine of 6,000 to 8,000 conventional units and deprivation of the right to hold certain public offices or to exercise a certain activity for a period of 7 to 10 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Officers of the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service (SPIA) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), together with prosecutors from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor&#8217;s Office (South Office) raided the homes, cars and work offices of three employees of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP) on Monday, November 14.
